Things have been going smoothly for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) for quite some time now, much to the delight of “Chadam” fans. However, if Melissa Claire Egan had her way, she’d actually want the couple to break up on “The Young and the Restless.”
The actress made the intriguing remark during an interview with Woman’s World, explaining why she believes a breakup would actually be good for Adam and Chelsea.
Egan, 44, admitted that Chelsea and Adam’s current romance hits different this time, especially considering their tumultuous past.
On this day in history: October 05
“Adam was her first love interest, so the whole ‘Chadam’ connection has been imperative in my 14 years on the show, but this time feels different,” the actress mused. “They seem like they’re in the best place that they’ve ever been, because they’ve overcome so much — which any couple can attest will make you stronger.”
Chelsea and Adam Keep Each Other in Check

Egan also acknowledged the fact that Chelsea and Adam have been keeping each other in check on “The Young and the Restless.”
It’s no secret that Chelsea has helped keep Adam on the straight and narrow, even to the point where he defied Victor Newman’s orders to use Newman Media to publicly attack his enemies.
As for Adam, he’s been Chelsea’s rock, especially during her struggles with mental health and the challenges involving their son, Connor Newman.
However, Egan pointed out that Chelsea has a dark side too, something that could easily cause problems down the road.
“Lately, she’s been the softer version of herself… but then, she can be savage, too,” the “Young and the Restless” star added. “She did used to be a con artist! So she’s always a little bit of both, depending on which mood you catch her. She ebbs and flows.”
‘The Young & the Restless’: Egan on Why ‘Chadam’ Needs to Break Up
While Adam and Chelsea seem to be in a great place in their relationship, Egan admitted that she’d like to see them part ways at some point.
“Eventually I want them to break up, but not because I don’t love it,” Egan told the outlet. “I hope Chelsea and Adam are endgame, and Mark Grossman [Adam] is fantastic, but we always joke, ‘We don’t want to be happy for too long.’ Because it’s so fun having someone wrong you on this show, or when you do something wrong. When you’re unhappy, you get the scoop!”
Torsus Terrastorm 4×4 Ambulance Wants to Rescue You from the Wildest Places
Meet the Torsus Terrastorm 4×4 Ambulance, a rescue vehicle that’s part lifeline, part sign of the times.
Torsus already offers less-emergency-focused models of its Terrastorm 4×4, based on a heavy-duty VW Crafter/MAN TGE 4Motion chassis, for things like off-road safari tours and overlanding adventures. The cargo model was “designed for delivery to the most remote God-forgotten places,” the company said, and the new Ambulance model could provide someone injured in those very lands a ride to safety.
Aside from the vitally important interior and exterior emergency accoutrements, the Ambulance is basically a standard Terrastorm. All Terrastorm models, including the Ambulance, use the same 2.0-liter biturbo diesel engine that produces up to 177 horsepower and 302-pound-feet of torque, with an eight-speed automatic transmission that delivers around 26 mpg combined.

Like other Terrastorm models, the Ambulance will be tailor-made for clients on either a short or long wheelbase and with different available roof heights. The standard Terrastorm kit includes a reinforced suspension, underbody protection, protective coating, breathers, and off-road wheels, with dozens of available options.
To turn a Terrastorm into an Ambulance model, Torsus will build it to comply with local regulations, including the correct Battenburg high-visibility markings, along with adding emergency LED beacons, a siren, and an external loudspeaker.
The customized interior can include options like electrical and oxygen supply systems, noise insulation, defibrillators, electrocardiograph machines, resuscitation backpacks, and ventilators and stretchers.
Torsus, based in the Czech Republic, told Car and Driver that the Ambulance model is being offered in part because of recent flash floods that have struck various parts of Europe and that conventional ambulances are not equipped to drive through. Standard Terrastorm models have a ground clearance of 10 inches, but the Ambulance introduces two new options (which will also be available to other Terrastorm buyers), one of which allows the vehicle to drive through water up to 20 inches deep. The new “extreme wading” snorkel and breather kit was specially developed for the engine’s intake system and includes watertight door sealing. Torsus said the kit was flow optimized to minimize any pressure drop and is mounted high in the engine bay to improve reliability.

The other technological improvement is a new, heavy-duty 4×4 drivetrain with full locking differentials and low-range gears that was developed in-house. Terrastorm customers can now choose between the original VW/MAN 4Motion system or the new Torsus 4×4 HD system.
“This is a significant improvement because the standard VW/MAN AWD system does not include full locking differentials or a low-range gearbox,” Torsus spokesperson Ben Lewis told C/D. “The Torsus 4×4 HD system is ideal for customers who need to wade through deep water, for example. It has been successfully tested under extreme conditions at the Tatra proving ground.”
Lewis said it wasn’t just the floods that prompted Torsus to create a first-responder type of Terrastorm. It was people asking for them.
“Torsus had previously completed several one-off ambulance commissions under NDA,” he said. “These projects proved so successful that they highlighted a growing need for more. After assessing the wider global demand for off-road ambulances, Torsus committed to developing a dedicated derivative for customers worldwide. Variants commissioned to date include evacuation, transport, and mobile laboratory versions, all designed to provide fast, reliable mobility in the toughest conditions.”
The Terrastorm 4×4 Ambulance is available now, starting at the equivalent of $154,000.
